My interest in photography began at a very young age. When I was about 14 I had a small compact digital and would roam about for hours taking photos of flowers and bugs and anything else I stumbled upon. I made my own Flickr account to share my photos with other users which was always incredibly encouraging.
I received my first DSLR when I was 18 and my passion and interest just continued to grow from there! Having made the decision to study Classics at university (a bit of a surprise!), I decided to launch my first business, Devon Contemporary Photography, during my second year and was incredibly excited to see it start to take off.
I began with odd jobs: photographing conferences, birthday parties and university balls but eventually, I managed to land my first wedding. I really threw myself into the deep end, having no experience with weddings and choosing to do the whole day myself, but luckily I ended up with two very happy customers! That first wedding is still on my website today (take a look at Charlie and Claire’s album!).
Since then, I have grown in confidence and developed a sense of my own style, but that really was the beginning of it all for me. After I graduated in July 2013, I decided to really focus on the business and launch myself as a wedding photographer. It has been an incredible year and a half and I have had so much support and encouragement along the way from family, friends and clients.
And here I am today, launching my second site!
