Dartington Hall Wedding
megalis 20 price Sam and Jessie’s Dartington Hall Wedding was so special. The chemistry between the two of them was just palpable – it was hard to keep them away from each other! Often I’d turn around and just see them having a lovely private moment, just the two of them. It was so lovely being the wedding photographer for these two! Having a wedding just before Christmas seemed to make everything seem more special as well.
The day begun on Dartmoor, where Jessie started her bridal prep at her parent’s amazing house in the middle of the Moors. It was a lovely, relaxed morning to be a part of . No stress at all, just excitement! I left just before the bridal party to head over to the amazing Dartington Hall to meet the Groomsmen before the ceremony. You could literally see Sam mouth wow when he saw Jessie walking down the aisle – quite understandably, she looked incredible! The wedding ceremony was filled with very personal readings and it was an emotional occasion all round!
After the ceremony, it was straight over to the Great Hall for the reception drinks and some Chritsmassy mince pies and mulled wines to get everyone in to the festive spirit. The bride and groom really didn’t want formal photos as they just didn’t want to spend too much time posing, so instead we did one big group photo, and then a few casual ones throughout the day. It was lovely to have a couple who were so insistent on just enjoying the day with very little formality. It was a really relaxed and fun wedding! Even when it came to their couples wedding photos in the amazing grounds of Dartington Hall they didn’t want to spend too long away from their guests. So I just spent a few minutes capturing some natural moments between them and left them to catch up and let everything sink in. Nothing too posed and very informal photography!
You could tell all of the guests walking in to the Hall set up for the wedding breakfast really took their breath away. Seeing Dartington Hall dressed up for Christmas was really amazing, and the enormous Christmas tree in the great hall was very impressive. Sam and Jessie also filled the space with decorations that nodded to their shared love of music, which was one of the reasons they met and fell in love in the first place. I loved the guitar case meant for wedding cards and gift with a sign saying “just in case”. The speeches were very well received, and afterwards everyone sat down an enjoyed a Christmas themed wedding breakfast.
The tables had barely been cleared before the band started and the bride and groom were up on the dance floor, followed by all the guests! I really enjoyed photographing all the dancing and fun and laughter. I think you can see from the wedding photos below how much fun this day was!
