Frequently Asked Questions

I will always suggest arranging a no strings attached meeting before booking - I think it’s so important to make sure you feel comfortable with me before making any decisions. It gives you a chance to ask any questions you might have, or we can just chat weddings! I promise I don’t do any hard sells and I won’t pressure you to make a decision there and then. If you live in Bristol we can grab a coffee, or if you’re a bit further afield we can book in a video call!

Once we’ve had a chat, just drop me a message if you want to go ahead and I’ll send over the booking form! There will just be a small deposit and a contract to secure your date - both of which can be sorted online.

I will always be on hand to answer any questions about your wedding (even if they’re not photography related!), so feel free to drop me a message at any time! Otherwise, I’ll be in touch 6 weeks before your wedding with your final details form to fill in all the timings of your day, any group photos or specific shot requests. Once I have your answers, I’ll be back in touch to arrange another chat before the day just to run over everything!

I send you a payment link so you can choose to pay via BACs or credit/debit card if your prefer. There will be a small deposit required in order to save your date (usually around 20% of the full balance). The final invoice will be sent out 6 weeks before your wedding date along with your final details form. You are more then welcome to pay before or after your wedding, as long as I get it all at some point, I’m happy. I would recommend paying before your date so you can get your previews within 24 hours of your wedding!

Argh, my nightmare scenario! I’ve shot over 300 weddings and I’ve never missed any (touch wood - I don’t want to jinx it!). It would take a LOT for me to not make it to your wedding!
I know emergencies do happen however, so I do have plans in place. If I know I won’t be able to make your wedding in advance, I would offer a few photographers as replacements. You’ll be able to look through their portfolios and choose someone you feel comfortable with. All the photographers I send over to your will be as experienced as I am with similar shooting styles. They will then capture your day, and I will edit the photos as before so you will end up with a similar gallery to if I was there.
If I am unable to make your wedding due to an unforeseen, last minute emergency I have a network of supportive photographers as well as being a member of several emergency photography groups. I WILL find cover for you so you won’t be without any photos on your day.

I am INCREDIBLY careful with your wedding photos to prevent any possible loss from data corruption.
Firstly, on the wedding day itself, I shoot on two cameras which both record to two memory cards. I also keep a back up camera in my bag as well! During the wedding breakfast, I make a back up to my laptop if there’s time. At the end of the wedding, I make sure one of each memory card is around my neck as I drive home, and the others are in my camera bag in my boot.
When I get home, the photos are immediately backed up to two external hard drives. I also keep the photos on the original memory cards until I have delivered your wedding.
Once I have finished editing, your final jpegs are kept in password protected cloud system which you will have access to for several years, and I keep one copy on an external hard drive.
I hope that helps anyone who is as anxious as I am when it comes to data loss!
