Mud Dock Wedding

Cat and Peter subverted every wedding tradition for their wedding day, and I cannot tell you how much I loved it! I am a massive fan of an untraditional day anyway, but they just nailed it by keeping to all the bits of the wedding that was meaningful to them and most importantly, fun.

I started off the morning with Cat and her bridesmaids for a high energy morning with her best girls. I LOVED the hot pink colour theme - perfect for this beautiful summer’s day.

We Uber-ed over to Bristol Registry Office for the ceremony. This was filled with tears as their friend, a professionally trained opera singer, performed with the groom’s brother accompanying on the piano.

Even the confetti was special, as it had been grown and dried by one of the bridesmaids. This was such an epic moment, with a big cheer as they walked down the steps and their 100 guests filled the streets of Bristol outside the Registry Office.

We did a few quick group shots outside (they didn’t want much more - perfect!) and then walked down to get a boat from Castle Park. The perfect playlist and the glorious sunshine made this boat ride with the Bristol Packet the ultimate booze cruise - absolute vibes!

Everyone disembarked at Mud Dock after a couple of hours, and I took Cat & Peter off for their couples photos. The timing was absolutely perfect as we reached golden hour just as the boat pulled in. We had a wander down by the harbour, with the iconic MShed red shutters and the cranes made the ideal Bristol-centric backdrop for their wedding photography.

We headed back in to Mud Dock for their speeches. It was all very casual; no assigned seating, no strict schedule. Everyone could relax and continue drinking! The venue brought out a buffet for everyone to pick at, and then the evening really kicked off with the most amazing entertainment - a live Oompah band. They were SO much fun, and people danced in to the night (very much fuelled by espresso martinis).

This was the most high energy, relaxed and truly unique wedding day ever and I absolutely loved it.
